9. Common Problems
The reseller area does not appear in the client area menu — the client is not enabled as a reseller and Allow Client to Open Reseller is off. Enable the client in the Resellers tab, or turn that setting on in Settings.
The reseller gets “Unauthorized: Invalid API Key” — the key was copied incompletely, or it has been reset since they configured their WHMCS. Re-copy it from the Settings tab of the reseller area into the registrar module.
The reseller gets “Your IP address is not whitelisted” — their group enforces IP restrictions and the calling server address is not on their list. The error message includes the detected IP — add exactly that address in the Resellers tab or have the reseller add it themselves.
The reseller gets a forbidden action or forbidden TLD error — the action is switched off in their group’s API Permissions, or the extension is not enabled on the group’s TLDs tab. Enable whichever is missing.
Domain registration fails with insufficient funds — the reseller’s credit balance does not cover the price. They must add funds before retrying.
TLD Sync imports nothing in the reseller’s WHMCS — the TLD Sync permission is disabled for their group, or no TLDs are enabled for it. Both are on the group dialog.
Prices in the reseller’s WHMCS do not match what you configured — the group’s Pricing Method may still be set to Use Default WHMCS Pricing Slab, or a per-TLD Override Discount is in force. Check the group’s TLDs tab, then re-run TLD Sync.
The registrar module still shows WHMPress branding — the reseller installed a ZIP downloaded before you set the name and logo. Ask them to download and reinstall the current ZIP from the portal.
Licence shows as invalid on a working key — the licence is locked to a domain, IP and directory. Request a reissue from WHMPress after moving servers, and make sure your server can reach whmcs.whmpress.com over HTTPS.
